Triumphal Entry

by Kate Hasson

Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” Mark 11:9

This was Suzannah’s Cubbies verse last week so we’ve been chanting it around the house for quite a while trying to ingrain it into our memories. It's been wonderful retelling this story in childlike terms. Showing what so intricately unfolded in the Scriptures as simple, sweet, and awesomely marvelous.

Here comes Jesus, King above all kings, riding into town on a baby donkey, having a path of palm branches and coats laid like the red carpet before Him. Here He chose to ride, knowing full well what He was going into… hatred, beatings, cruelty, and death. Yet also knowing that it was here He was meant to be, to bring salvation to all these people who cried both “Hosanna, blessed is He”, and also “Crucify Him”!

Oh what love! That the King and Creator of the universe would willingly give His life for me! “…He will save His people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21

Hosanna in the Highest!”
